artists residency
OPEN CALL FOR CAVEMEN!
The CAVE A.I.R. (artist in residence) program calls for cave-inhabitant artist to occupy its' 18 cubic meters chamber-space. The space is placed within a living community in Buda.
We expect the applicant to finance the costs of living ( the room costs approx. 60 eur) while maintaining an artist-identity in the vacuum of the Budapest artscene. The aim is to represent this artist/ic identity. Former experiences are not required although might be quite helpful.
With that in mind the applicant can avail of the social and human capital of the community members. The project duration might be at least one month. Please enclose a description of your surviving strategies adopted to the cave with an emphasis on the plans NOT to be realized.

OPEN CALL FOR CAVEMEN!
A CAVE A.I.R. (artist in residence) program barlanglakó művészt keres egy budai lakóközösség 18 köbméteres kamra-space-ébe. A residency témája a lakhatás (~20e. ft/60 eur) és az önfenntartás költségeinek kreatív fedezése budapest-based artist identitás gyakorlásával a kortárs szcéna vákuumában. A cél a művész-identitás reprezentációja a program során. Előzetes gyakorlat nem szükséges, de jól jöhet. A lakóközösség tagjainak kulturális tőkéje a barlanglakó rendelkezésére áll. A program időtartama minimum egy hónap. Jelentkezès: barlangra alkalmazott életstratégia ismertetésével, különös tekintettel a residency alatt nem megvalósítandó projektekre !

Our first applicant is Csilla Hódi, Budapest-based multi artist. In her artistic practice she applies a large toolkit of genres including sewing, stock videos, photography, yoga, twerking, cooking, somatic methods, curating and tattoing. This way she rapidly and successfully managed to adopt to her new circumstances.

Our protoresident is Emese Pap, painter, artist-coach, computergame-designer, musician. Her work creates a queer fusion of critical theory, linguistics and politics inside an autobiographical framework. She is also very good at DIY-furnishing. She spent 3 moths in the cave, including a winter month. Congatulations!
We are proud to introduce our second resident: Boldizsár Hordós, singer-songwriter, major character of the hungarian political fantasy. The dark residency-chamber might be the perfect shelter for Hordós's dark soul.
